The Food Bank of the Southern Tier is asking neighbors to lose weight to help feed families.
For the first time, it's teaming-up with Feed America’s "Pound for Pound" challenge.
A program that encourages Americans to lose weight alongside contestants of NBC's "The Biggest Loser".
The program works like this:
For every pound someone in the Southern Tier loses, the food bank receives 14 cents.
Food bank officials say this gives people one more way to donate in this tough economy.
The top ten food banks will be featured on NBC's The Biggest Loser, which can be seen right here on WETM-TV, Tuesdays at 8 PM.
