A loss at home today that shouldn't happen. You simply can't play down to the level of your competition.

They sucked the big wazoo today, and got out played case in point the 1 and 1 foul shot with less than two minutes left and they stood flat footed as the shot was missed.. I knew right then they would lose - Lousville wanted it more. And why is SCOOP chokedeen even taking shots so late in the game? ugh...

It was a cool experience though a win would've just topped it off. 31,000 plus people in attendance, not bad!

Wondered how you made out, Oops. They'd better get it together. Helped that UConn beat Nova this eve.

I say this lost was a good one for them. They have been playing like crap for the past couple of games. I am hoping that this will get them motivated again and start playing like they can.

And what the hell does play down to the level of competition? I hear that all the time. They lost plain and simple.

Wes Johnson hasn't played the same since he took that tumble. As a Bills fan, same thing happened to our QB went he got rocked in week 5. And the rest is history...

Up 23 points this eve and lead dwindled...painful to watch, but a W.

It means they try to play just good enough to win, and not necessarily their best.

My take on this SU team RIGHT NOW...

They have such a shallow bench, and their two-three zone is SO aggressive, a collapsing zone, the players start to wear down. Their legs are like rubber by the middle of the second half. They can't get back on defense like they do/did in the first half when they are/were fresh and their shooting is affected because of their fatigued legs.

That's what gets me about Boeheim. The problem for years has been the bench. This year, they have some depth, but he doesn't utilize it.

God if Coach B would only utilize his bench he might win over 800 freaking games, numerous tournamnets, Big East championships, the most 20+ wins seasons, etc, etc, etc...... The man is a hall of fame coach for a reason. If he doesnt go deep in his bench then so be it. SU is doing just fine. Sit back and enjoy the ride....

Oy to the vey, Gio.

I was just speculating as to why big leads are lost in the second half of some games.

How can using good bench players more during the regular season be terribly wrong ??

Mookie Jones doesn't belong on the floor unless necessary at this point in the year. He doesn't handle the ball well. He doesn't play defense, and he is a gunner. He was in the game for 14 seconds against Louisville and jacks up an awful shot. They got to 25-2, without him for the most part, and they don't really need him now.
