A local agency that promotes early learning for children is closing it's doors. The Child Care Council of the Finger Lakes- which serves both Cayuga and Seneca counties- will cease operations effective June 30th.
Board of Directors President Karen Stewart tells the Auburn Citizen that the council will cease operations "due to unfortunate circumstances", but she declined to specify what those circumstances were.
The Child Care Council employs 8 people. The New York State Office of Children and Family Services is working to continue to provide services now provided by the local council.
