You can have at it lol I like peace and quiet. I'm far too relaxed and laid back for any of that crap anymore. This place is just a diversion for entertainment. I have everything in my life I need now and this place is meaningless.

Plus I don't want to get Jim upset about the forums. It is a nice free service we all get to utilize. He has bigger things to deal with...

I have been on forums run by teenagers, with mostly teenagers posting, and they are pretty non restrictive and run decently. There is no rift in space and time because they all post images in their signatures. If a bunch of kids can handle the apparently HUGE responsibility of posting images in your signature, or (gasp) more than 100 characters, why is this forum so fascist? People are always talking about America being the Land of the Free... but don't you dare post a picture in your signature young man! If we lengthened the character limit, people might...well they might.. post long quotes or some other such nonsense!

This forum seems restrictive in other ways (oh my god they talked about other people!) but the signature thing is ridiculous.

Well sure I do if it's deserved. I don't feel a post slamming the forum for rules deserves it nor one slamming the SPCA which are the only threads I've been negative on.

My feeling is if you make a negative post you will get some negative responses. I simply feel some people post to cause trouble. Plus I was not aware it was my job to be a welcome wagon. I'll get some virtual baskets of cookies together.

Maybe you should send some of those cookies to your golfball wielding neighbors.

Well I know the tone wasn't great when I posted this but look at it this way.

Lets equate signatures to guns. Guns can cause damage, but people can use them responsibly.

Now lets say some people misuse their guns. Do we ban guns altogether, or do we punish the people misusing their guns?

A fascist country would ban the guns. Then everyone's freedom is restricted because of a few bad apples.

OR, you could set up rules and guidelines and then punish the offenders. Just make sure not to let someone deregulate the forum, and things would be fine.

On the other hand, it is a free forum, the admins can run it how they want I guess.

Signature box still reads 39 characters used when empty.

What gives?
