Savannah considers crowd regulations
SAVANNAH The Town Board has scheduled a workshop to review a proposed law that would regulate large outdoor gatherings where admission is charged this after a contentious meeting last night during which a motocross track operator accused the board of writing the law to put him out of business.
Is this law directed at Savannah Motocross Park? Mark Emmett asked the board during a public hearing on the proposal.
Supervisor Ken Lauderdale said the law was being proposed to provide safety and sanitary regulations for outdoor events when more than 50 people assemble and an admission is paid.
The permit required to hold such an event would make sure a town official had approved the plans.
the board decided some definitions need to be tightened and everyone needs to understand the proposed law better.
A workshop was scheduled for April 20 at 6:30 p.m. Some feel targeted by proposed law
