pizzeria
Does anyone have any accurate information on the new pizza place coming in downtown Seneca Falls? It's going where the old Varsity pizzeria use to be. Who own's this? Is this a chain? When will it open? etc

Heard a small, privately-owned pizzeria was opening on Bridge St, across from Amy's liquor store. Don't know when.

Not from what i heard. That building is so dilapedated from years of neglect a serious amount of money would have to be invested into the kitchen alone to make it operable. Although i did hear about the one on bridge street.
"Not from what I heard!!!!"
Welcome to Seneca county!

There IS a sign in the window of the previous Varsity Pizza. I saw it as I was driving by so didn't get a chance to see what the name of it was, but it did say opening soon.

I retract my previous statement. apparently someone does want to spend their money to fix up another persons building. There is a BB's pizzeria going into the old varsity building.

I could be wrong, but since it appears that you may have thoughtlessly used up your entire yearly allotment of both possessive and contractive apostrophes, I think that you might be interested in the special sale I'm having on apostrophes today. In fact, if you respond before midnight tonight, they're HALF PRICE! Buy now, because you never seem to know when you need one!

What this area needs is a place that sells Greek pizza rather than Italian, just for a change of pace. It's a rarity here, but common back home. Doubt we'll get it though... oh well.

Josephus, if you want the best Greek Pizza made by a Greek you need to go to Ned's Pizza in Cayuga Heights. Ned makes the best Pizza in Ithaca.

I usually don't play English cop, but you used 6 apostrophes, and 5 uses were wrong; I couldn't help saying something, LOL. I tried to be both humorous and instructive, and I thank you for your graceful equanimity.

Burt, who owned Gino's and Joe is suppose to open in the Varsity. And a retired fellow who always wanted to own a pizza shop is trying to open across from Amy's on Bridge. That is what I heard by rumors.

the family that owned gino and joes just recently like 6 months ago took over the aldos location in auburn bc the owner "uncle tony" of seneca falls avicollis couldnt make a dime their to save his life. and now i hope they r coming here to knock him out of buisness too.

Just heard last night that Tony handed over the business...I feel kind of sorry for him now. I also heard Little Italy is coming downtown Seneca Falls where the old Venice use to be. Does anyone know if there is any truth to this?

When did he hand what buisness over? the auburn location or the seneca falls one?
Seneca Falls. To my knowledge he has no ties to the Avicollis in Auburn but I could be wrong

Re: pizzeria - 05/12/11 04:40 PM
I was reffering to the aldos location that he sold a few months back. well if this is tru then it is a good day to get that scum out of sf. He truly ruined a good buisness and tarnished the reputation that nick worked hard to achieve.

Hi everyone I am co owner with my family of BB'S Pizza we currently have 1 location in Auburn on Genesee street my husband Bert did own Gino and Joes in SF about 13 years ago since then we have had children and grandchildren my boys have worked in other pizza places and wanted to open there own BB'S stands for Bert, Boys and Shorty we are going to keep out current location in auburn and if things go well hope to be in seneca falls soon. Lets get some things straight we are not coming to bully anyone out our pizza is fresh we dont have freezers or microwaves we make our own dough sauces and rolls we have 19 wing flavor sauces to tantalize any taste buds. we have never been associated w/ Eldo's in auburn that is Tony's place from avicolli's in SF and now Frnaks from Gino and Joes which we have never been associated with Frank he was a small boy when my husband started making pizza in auburn for his brother about 27 years ago we do the absolute fresh as possible we pick our own rpoduce and make our own dough rolls and sauces we make it the freshest possible. If everything goes according to plan we will be in SF shortly BB'S is not a sit down restraunt it is pick up walk ins and hopefully delivery small and simple. Thanks and if you have any ?'s for me please email me emailme4avon@yahoo.com hope i cleared things up for you

I'll try the sauces one flavor at a time. Anticipating yummy treats! Although in thinking about different wing sauces, I couldn't come up with 19 different ones. Looking forward to seeing a list. I'm making myself hungry.
Ok did i miss something here. Who said anything about BB's dough not being fresh and using microwaves and freezers. Aside from Tony being rude to his help I have eaten there plenty of times and found NOTHING wrong with the food at Avicollis. He keeps his prices reasonable(unlike Ciccinos) and he is there non stop.

out of 19 flavors we make 1 of them ourselves and no I wasnt saying you implied anything about Tony has been at our pizza place on many occasions for pizza we dont want any problems everyone makes there own pizza there own way we are happy that we may be a part of Seneca Falls thank you

Re: pizzeria - 05/12/11 07:36 PM
yes i think you missed something i was making a statement we pride ourselves of not using a freezer or micro wave and having the freshest ingrediants our prices and specials are reasonable we are exclusive on BEAT the Clock and the Garbage Pizza
Posted by: Oldgzr
Re: pizzeria - 05/12/11 07:40 PM
I don't think you are exclusive with garbage pizza. There are plenty of shops around here making pizza that is garbage.
ok well your words tend to come across rude at times. Your going to turn off any potential customers. Trust me. We are a small town. You going to need all the support you can. We already have Avicollis, Marks, Little Italy, and Ciccinos owners are from Seneca falls and they have very loyal customers in this town.

BB never mind eyes, truth is there is not a decent fairly priced pizzeria in this town. You will do quite well here if u do in fact come.

I will certainly give them a try. I was looking forward to Mark's coming to town before they opened. What a disappointment.
My wife is making the best pizza in Waterloo right now. Right in our kitchen. I was thinking about pizza on the way home from work. I guess after 43 years of marriage we both think alike.

We cook at home most of the time. A couple time a week we like to either go to a restaurant or get good quality take out food. No fast food like Mickey D's or BK.

If you have to complain about prices of food when you eat out, maybe you shouldn't be eating out. Ciccino's has been in business for 15 years and keeps expanding, I would say not many other people agree with you.
Ciccinos prices are hiked too high for the quality of food you get.
oh, so someone does agree with me about their prices. FYI...I have no problem paying a high price but with it better come quality food and service.

12 dollars for a appetizer sampler is ridiculous in my opinion . also on deliverys the drivers get to make up there own delivery charges for areas like lower lake rd and such.
We need a good large cheese pie for 9 bucks......

What it speaks to me is that there are many people in the area willing to pay too much for mediocre "Italian" food. Most of them have never had real Italian food. I'm not Italian, but I married into an Italian family. The food is amazing.

We can still respect the person, even if we think the opinion is utter nonsense, and thus can have no respect for it.
There isn't a decent Pizza place here in Syracuse so I make my own. I even make the dough fresh the night before let it rise overnight, then refrigerate during the day while at work. Daughter takes the dough out after school and it has 2 hours to get room temp and workable. I also buy all the toppings in bulk at BJ's sauce, mozzarella, pepperoni, banana peppers, olives, and mushrooms. Best of all it is cheaper and I pile on the toppings! Most places you pay through the nose for extra toppings, and haven't found one yet that knows the true meaning of EXTRA!
I make a chicken alfredo pizza(alfredo instead of red sauce, chicken cubes, and mushrooms) for my wife, sausage peppers and cheese for the daughter, and for me I make a deep dish pizza in our cast iron pan with sauce, cheese, onions, banana peppers, mushrooms, pepperoni, olives, ham, bacon, and sausage.
My dough recipe makes 2 pizza'a so I always make a double batch, with the 1 leftover pizza dough ball I refrigerate and make calzones later in the week. MMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Hold the olives, ham and bacon and you have my favorite pizza.
